Tips for MOOps users
A program like MOOps has many possibilities. Therefore on this page we will
give the user of MOOps a few tips to do more with the program.
Tip 1 - Advanced Pasting!
You can paste some text to the MOO with paste text in the right-mouse button
menu or with Ctrl-P. The text is displayed to the place were the player
is as an note. Use Advanced Paste to paste text to a player or to a MOO-channel.
Type the name of the player behind @paste in the dialogbox or the name of
the channel behind @chanpaste.
You can also use ctrl-v to paste text in the inputbar behind a command
like say or " , push enter to send it to the MOO-server.

Tip 2 - problems with pasting!
When the MOO or MUD the @paste command not supports it is possible to adjust
the command in the dialogbox of advanced paste. Clean the command-box and End with-box
and write in the prefix box one of the next commands sp | or
spoof | or : | or " | or say | . It depends on
the MOO or MUD which command is supported.
Tip 3 - Text file
With /le <name file>.txt is it possible to open
a text file in an editor window. Do you want to put some text temporarily
aside, open a new editor window with /le <name> .
The file can eventually be saved . You can even do it without using a name!
The file is saved in the directory of MOOps.
Tip 4 - Adjusting a theme
Don't adjust your themes is a world. Better is to open an new world window
with /new <name> . Now you can view your theme better.
It is also more convenient to view the built-in help in a new world window
in stead of a connected MOO or MUD window.
Tip 5 - Making macros or scripts
Try to make a script or macro some time. Open an editor window with
/le <name>.msc . Put in it some text to execute, don't forget
MOO or MUD commands as " or : or sp to put before
every sentence. With /x <name> the script can be
executed. More details you find in the built-in help of MOOps.
Tip 6 - Back-up your verbs while programming
Are you an active MOO-programmer, so it will be possible that a mistake can
influence the MOO negatively. A back-up of the original verb, you can send
right away to the MOO by mistakes is very convenient. To accomplish this,
the only thing you have to do, is open the verb you are working in twice.
Change the first verb an use the second one whenever you make a terrible
mistake. MOOps isn't restricted in the times you can open an verb with the
built-in editor of MOOps. Look out, don't save the back-up verb when your
programming is successful, your changes will be lost then.
It is also a good idea to log completely by active programming. Whenever
a serious mistake happens your verb can be retrieved by looking into the logs.
Tip 7 - Login to a MUD
Automatic login in a MUD is possible by changing some options in the Session-options menu of the session (Choose current session).
Every MUD has it own protocol to login, so no standard rules can be given.
You can leave username and password in account empty and these put by scripts >> on server connected
or you can change by commands your login choice. You have te experiment a bit. Have fun :)
Tip 8 - More lines in the inputbar
You can type more lines together in the inputbar by using Ctrl-enter after every line.
When you are ready, a simple enter will send all typing to the MOO or MUD.
